Welcome Home

A small women only NDIS home in Cranbourne supporting women aged 20 and over with psychosocial disability or complex mental health needs.

Here you will experience safety, dignity and compassionate care because this is more than accommodation it is family.

Our Story

Care With Dignity grew from a place close to our hearts, the very home where Karen, our Managing Director, raised her children. With over 15 years as a nurse, Karen saw firsthand how many women with complex needs were placed in cold, impersonal environments that overlooked their dignity, individuality, and deep need for belonging.

She knew there had to be a better way, a place where safety, respect, and connection come first.

So, together with her children Maxim and Paris, Karen transformed that family home into a warm, welcoming space, a true home, offering specialised NDIS Supported Independent Living, Short Term Accommodation, and Medium Term Accommodation in Cranbourne.

We keep our community small and close-knit on purpose. Because when you are supporting women through complex challenges, every detail matters and no one should ever feel like just a number.

Meet the Team

  • Karen Thomas

Managing Director | Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

Karen brings over 15 years of nursing experience to her leadership at Care With Dignity. Her clinical background and calm presence help shape an environment that’s safe, structured, and nurturing — especially for women with complex needs.

  • Maxim Thomas

    Business Manager

With a background in communications and strategy, Maxim ensures the business runs smoothly and sustainably, so every participant receives consistent, high-quality support.

  • Paris Thomas

    Disability Support Worker

Paris offers not just hands-on care, but heartfelt connection. Her lived experience helps us build meaningful relationships with each participant.

  • John Barry

    Disability Support Worker

John supports some of our younger male NDIS participants through in-home and community-based care. With a calm presence and a practical, strengths-based approach, he builds trusted connections that empower independence and confidence.

  • Gucci the Pug

    Chief Wellbeing Officer

Gucci takes her role seriously: offering cuddles on demand, snoring through meetings, and reminding everyone to slow down (especially for snack breaks). As Valma Avenue’s resident therapy dog, she brings warmth, comfort, and just the right amount of mischief to every day.

She may be small, but her impact on wellbeing is big.

  • Harriet

    Chief Calm Officer

Harriet is calm, quiet, and observant — often found sunbaking in the garden or keeping a watchful eye from her favourite window perch. She sets the tone for a peaceful home and is always happy to accept gentle pats (on her terms, of course).

Equal parts independent and affectionate, Harriet reminds us daily of the power of quiet company.

How We’re Different

We Care Like Family — Because We Are One

Our NDIS home is the same house our family grew up in. You’ll always know who’s caring for you, and they’ll know you too.

Support for Women 20+ With Complex Mental Health Needs

We specialise in psychosocial disability and trauma-aware care, in a female-only home designed for calm, stability, and recovery.

One Home. One Team. No Agency Staff

We run one small, community-based home in Cranbourne — so nothing slips through the cracks, and every face is a familiar one.

Safety in Every Stay

  • NDIS Worker Screening

Our disability support workers all undergo thorough background checks to ensure they're fully qualified to provide the best NDIS care.

  • Mandatory Training

All of our disability support workers are NDIS-trained, first-aid certified, and undergo essential training to meet your specific needs.

  • Incident Management

Your safety is non-negotiable. We actively monitor and address any incidents 24 hours, 7 days a week.

  • NDIS-Registered

As an NDIS-registered provider, we meet the highest standards of care, strict regulations and safety.

Our Values

Our values shape every interaction, decision, and support we provide. They’re more than words — they’re how we care, why we show up, and what makes our home different.

  • Every woman deserves to feel safe, seen and respected — always.

  • We create homes, not facilities. Connection comes first.

  • Families know exactly who’s providing care — and they trust them.

  • Support is led by each participant’s goals, not someone else’s checklist.

  • We promote independence while staying close by when needed.

“Care With Dignity consistently provides compassionate, personalised support that empowers participants with complex needs to thrive.”

— J.P Managing Director, AbleMotion Therapy (Exercise Physiologist)
